How does this work? Omnimusic is a "production music library" - a source from which you can license copyright-cleared music to use in your media production. We license our music in several different ways, depending on what you need, whether it's just one piece for a presentation, or an unlimited, all-you-can-use blanket license. Where does the music come from?
Our 120 talented composers from around the world have created this music exclusively for use in media productions of all kinds.
Many of our composers are Emmy© and CINE© award winners; others are top session musicians here in New York where we have our studio. We use the latest
recording technology, the best microphones, and the world's best musicians to create the music for you.
How do I find music in your library? We offer you many ways to search for music, including a basic keyword search. Simply type in the words that describe the music you want, or choose from our many suggested keywords. Make sure you watch the search tip videos to learn how to filter search results. We think our search system is the best in the industry, but if you still can't find exactly what you want, please call and let us search for you. Call us toll free (800) 828-6664 M-F, 9am to 5pm EST. OK, I found my ideal track. Now what? You can license most types of productions online, 24/7 using your credit card. Simply check the box on the search results page to add the track to your music list, then follow the on-screen prompts to register and check out. You'll be able to download the track (either MP3 or wav) and receive a legal clearance license immediately. What if my production isn't listed for online checkout? In that case, you'll need to call us and let us help you get the license you need. Music rights can be complicated, and we want you to get exactly the clearance - and only the clearance - you need. I use a librarian program to keep track of all my music files. Will your files work with my program? All our MP3 files contain metadata that can be read by any MP3 player, and our WAV files are compatible with all major librarian programs, including SoundMiner. You can also access Omni files through third-party systems including DashBox, NetMix and SoundMouse. |
I like one of your tracks, but I’d like it without the lead guitar. Many of our tracks come with underscore or alternate mixes (on the search results page, look under "details"). If no underscore is included, we may still be able to re-mix a version just for you. There is no charge for this service for blanket customers. Please email or call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-828-6664 for more details. Can I get exclusive rights to a track? Because Omni is distributed around the world to thousands of producers, it is not possible for us to grant exclusive rights to any track in the library. However, our composers are all available to create custom music for your project. If there’s a composer whose work you particularly like, please email or call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-828-6664 to discuss the options for original music. What if I never actually use the piece I download from We’re not in business to take your money for doing nothing. If your project falls through and you never use the music, call us for a full refund of your license fee. It’s part of our “good business” philosophy. What makes Omni different from other libraries? There are several things that distinguish Omnimusic from others in our business. First, we are an independent, privately-owned company with business practices that reflect our respect and appreciation for our customers. Our reputation for honest value, fair dealing and extreme customer service is well known in the industry. Omni has been serving the media production community for more than thirty years. Second, our deep and continuing experience in film and video production shapes the way we produce library music. We understand how music triggers human emotion, and how to create music that woks with visual images. Play any of our style demos to see what we mean. Finally, our commitment to human health and the environment helps shape our corporate policies and practices as we seek to operate a sustainable and socially responsible business. Royalties from Omnimusic are used to help fund Grassroots Environmental Education, a non-profit organization. Is Omni looking for new composers? Yes, we are constantly looking for talented composers. Please send a brief email about your qualifications to Dave Hab, Vice President of Music Publishing and Associate Producer of Omni (dave@omnimusic.com) and include a link where we can hear your music. |
